Madonna has posted a hilarious love letter apology video after being slammed for ditching flowers at a press conference while promoting the premiere of her Directorial Debut of W.E. The singer was caughton camera saying she hated hydrangeas after an admirer at the Venice Film Festival handed her the blooms.
She smiled as she accepted the gift then placed the bouquet on the floor, saying: "I absolutely loathe hydrangeas. He obviously doesn't know that."
Little did Madge know that the dismissive remarks were caught on the microphones at the press event.
Now the Material Girl, has answered her critics with a love letter apology, not to her fan that gave her the purple flowers, but to the flower itself.
Shot in sepia tones, the clip shows Madonna holding a bunch of hydrangeas in her arms and gently stroking the petals as The Godfather theme plays in the background.
A la Silent Film, subtitles guide the video:
"You have no idea how many nights I have lost thinking about how I hurt you.
"Words cannot express how sorry I am, to think I may have caused you pain."
"My heart is going to burst with sadness."
"I need to know in time you may forgive me"
If I could take back my words I would but I can't, so what am I left with?
And all of a sudden our pop queen turns Psycho! She slams the helpless flower bouquet on the floor and stomps all over it with her shoes.
"I'm left with the fact I still hate hydrangeas! And I will always hate them!"
"It's a free country! So f**k you I like roses!!"
What a way to turn over a new leaf! After the floral faux pas, Madonna's Rep issued a statement saying the singer is "entitled to like any flower she wants."
